DyBond® Blue
Resin treated Nomex® mica based
DyBond® Blue is a range of single-layer flexible electrical insulating material that can be used up to 200°C.
DyBond® Blue is designed to address the increasing need for partial discharge resistance of inverter-driven motors insulation and to support processability maintaining the excellent PDIV and voltage endurance characteristics of mica containing Nomex® products.
DyBond® Blue is made by Coveme, converting mica containing Nomex® products through a patented (DuPont™ and Coveme) process, which confers to the product great mechanical stability and compactness in addition to the native Partial Discharges Resistance of mica containing Nomex® products. The Coveme process improves the properties of the mica containing Nomex® products family by making the material process friendly in regards to handling, fabrication and insertion.
Third-party laboratory testing confirms that DyBond® Blue retains the PDIV and Voltage Endurance of mica containing Nomex® products unchanged. DyBond® Blue combines excellent characteristics, such as voltage endurance, high dielectric strength, high temperature resistance, good mechanical properties and compatibility with production processes, effectively extending the opportunities for use of mica containing Nomex® products.
DyBond® Blue can be used as slot insulation, slot closure and end-winding phase separator in electrical rotating machines. It may also be employed as wrapping for conductors. Thanks to its excellent performance it is ideal for automotive motors in 800V systems and industrial motors and generators in high demanding application as trolley bus and wind turbines.
In transformers and electrical static equipment, DyBond® Blue can be used as interlayer insulating material and is especially beneficial for high frequency applications.
Coveme insulating materials are UL Underwriters Laboratories certified and recognized by all major certification bodies worldwide.
Moreover the IATF certifies Coveme as qualified supplier specifically for the automotive industry.
